SMS Verbal Consent Script
Last updated: September 10, 2026
This page documents the exact verbal consent script that Swiftlook representatives read (or paraphrase from) to a recipient on a live phone call, immediately before an invitation SMS is sent. It is provided so that carriers, regulators, and Swiftlook customers can review the consent language.
The script
Elements included
- Clear description of the service and message content
- Message frequency (one message per screen-share session)
- Standard message and data rates disclaimer
- HELP keyword instruction
- STOP keyword instruction
- Link to SMS Program Terms and Privacy Policy
- Explicit request for consent (yes or no)
- Confirmation of enrollment
How the script is delivered
The script is read by the Swiftlook customer (a sales, service, or support representative) during a live phone conversation with the recipient. It is not automated, not sent by IVR, and not delivered via SMS. Consent is captured verbally, on the call, at the moment the recipient answers "yes." The SMS is only sent after the recipient's verbal "yes" is received.
There is no web form, no double opt-in, and no marketing list. Each screen-share session captures its own fresh consent. There is no recurring campaign.
Rep-facing reference
This page is also the canonical reference for Swiftlook customer representatives learning how to obtain compliant verbal consent. Slight rephrasing is permitted so the script feels natural in conversation, as long as all eight elements above are covered and the recipient explicitly agrees before the SMS is sent.
